This month's was at the Roberson's home. The girls discussed different words and feelings from the book such as light, love, music and forgiveness. They decorated candles, played games and had yummy Taco soup. As Miggery Sow would say "Gor, it was fun!"
June 27th: We had fun making chocolate covered pretzels and fruit. The girls said they had "chocolate fever" and put chocolate all over their arms. We all agreed our favorite character was Mac. We had a personal note from the author telling us that he made that book for his daughter and that he hoped we had some chocolate on the menu, It was fun to have Chloe Luevano join us this month.
This month, we read The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. The kids had a great discussion. For our activity, we made scones. Then, we had a British Tea. We got to try some Turkish Delight, eat our yummy scones, and have hot chocolate and herbal tea.
This month we are picking out a favorite Thanksgiving book.
November's Meeting
This month's meeting will be held on Tuesday November 4th, at Kim Tanner's house. Be prepared to talk about things we are thankful for.
Quoteworthy:
A truly good book teaches me better than to read it. I must soon lay it down, and commence living on its hint. What I began by reading, I must finish by acting. Henry David Thoreau
I myself do nothing, the Holy Spirit accomplishes all through me. William Blake
